Imho, this is most likely an instructional setting. If I am correct, that would explain the lack of organized movement/flow of people around the hull.
Other factors more directly related to wooden boat building, are frankly just plain time consuming.
Are you a boat manufacturer? I doubt it, only an idiot would watch a video of a team building a boat in a factory, which obviously builds boats full time, and comment on the productivity of the team the way you have. This video has been sped up, you dont have any real idea of the actuall time it is taking, also you dont know how many boats are being assembled at any given time on or off the screen. Did you ever think the boat at the center may be a jig? for other boats.
this is a instructional setting, unitec, new zeland. other two boats were being built at the time. the boat was built with very high standards, that you can find in really few boat yards. the video covers probably four or five months of work. project, construction and instruction by Ian Dunford. it was a great time!
Hi Joao. I am very tempted to get myself a home made sailing boat, small thing. could you tell me please what is the material that you use to get the boat together. Is it epoxy? does epoxy works as a glue and a gap filler?
